AirBridgeCargo will make Liege its European hub

The Russian giant will operate roughly 30 flights per week and create 400 jobs there, allowing Liege Airport to weave its way into the top 5 cargo airports in Europe by 2020.

Airbridge will operate in Liege

AirBridgeCargo planes operate in Russia, Asia, Europe and North America, covering more than 30 destinations worldwide. Now a European AirBridgeCargo hub, Liege is also a crucial link for the company in transporting e-commerce goods, with over 30 flights operating each week.

The abilities of our Belgian customs, enticing e-commerce companies, was one of the assets that allowed Liege Airport to stand out from the roughly 30 European airports they were competing against.

Thanks to AirBridgeCargo, we plan on reaching a million tonnes between now and 2020 and becoming one of the European top 5.

The signed agreement, which covers ten years, expects a 25 million euro investment for the construction of a 25,000m² concourse to house Russian operations. These facilities, staffed by AirBridgeCargo, will then be let to the new client during a 10-year period for a similar figure.

The first construction phase should be finished in June 2019.
As part of the effort, the Walloon Airports Company (Sowaer) will finance the new, involved infrastructure for a total sum of 29 million euros. The arrival of the project should finally allow for the creation of 400 jobs at the site.

In the heart of Europe

The Liege Airport is one of the leading facilities enticing numerous investors by allowing them to position themselves in the heart of the European market.
